Three die after coming into contact with live wire

Three field labourers died after coming into contact with a live electricity cable at Arakera (J) village in Hunsagi taluk of Yadgir district on Friday.

The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Erappa of Sadaba village, 30-year-old Devu of Agateerth camp, and 23-year-old Suresh of Kellur village of Jewargi taluk, sources said.

Initial reports suggested that the incident took place when an electricity cable which they were pulling came in contact with another live electricity cable. However, the actual reason for the incident will be revealed after an investigation.

A case has been registered at the Hunsagi police station.
