Thailand won back-to-back matches in its AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers campaign after blanking Iraq 7-0 on Sunday at the 700th Anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium in Thailand.

A hat-trick from Wirunya, Karnjanathat’s brace, and goals from Pichayatida and Panittha helped the Thai post a massive scoreline and improve its goal difference.

However, India continues to top the standings in Group B, ahead of Thailand on goal difference. Earlier in the day, the Blue Tigresses beat Timor Leste 4-0.

Meanwhile, Timor Leste and Mongolia are already out of contention of making the tournament set to be held in Australia next year.

Only the group winner from each group in the qualifiers will advance to the 2026 edition of the continental event.

Thailand reached the quarterfinals in the last edition which was hosted by India. It won the tournament in 1983, finished as runner-up thrice (1975, 1977), and finished third once in 1986.

Thailand next faces Mongolia.
