‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ premiere: Salman Khan’s banter with Aamir Khan goes viral; Shah Rukh Khan makes dashing appearance

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan hosted a grand premiere of his latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, in Mumbai on Thursday (June 19). The event was attended by Aamir’s girlfriend Gauri Spratt, his son Azad Rao Khan, and many celebrities and friends, including superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.

A major highlight of the evening was a funny exchange between Salman and Aamir that caught the eyes of the attendees. While posing to the papparazzi outside the venue, Salman joked that Sitaare Zameen Par was originally offered to him before Aamir decided to play the lead role himself. “He didn’t tell you the story behind the film? Aamir had invited me to listen to this subject. I went and I really loved the film; I even said yes, but then I got a call from him saying, ‘I’m making the film.’ I had praised the film so much that he decided to do it himself.”

Salman then went on to explain that Aamir too liked the film, but that he was too busy at that time. “There was a bit of a load on him because of the scripting and paperwork. So I said it’s a great film and that I want to do it. I get a call, and he says that he has already done it before.”

Meanwhile, Aamir too joined in on the banter, saying, “Can it happen that he agrees to do the film and I end up being cast in the film?” The exchange left everyone in the arena in splits.

On the other hand, superstar Shah Rukh Khan made a dashing appearance at the premiere show. Sporting a white t-shirt, a hoodie and a beanie, the superstar was all smiles as he posed for pictures with the cast of Sitaare Zameen Par. This comes just a day after the makers of the film released a video showing Shah Rukh’s surprise visit to the sets of the film. “Aamir has told me at least 10 times. He said, ‘Come and meet the actors. They are doing so well.’ Even 3 days ago, he told me, ‘Shah, tu ana yaar! (Shah, come over bud!)’” said Shah Rukh in the video.

Other celebrities spotted at the premiere included Rekha, Asha Bhosle, Vicky Kaushal, Juhi Chawla, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Jeetendra, and Tiger Shroff, among others.

Sitaare Zameen Par is a spiritual follow-up to Taare Zameen Par (2007). Directed by RS Prasanna and produced under the Aamir Khan Productions banner, the film features Genelia Deshmukh as the female lead. The cast of the film features Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, Aayush Bhansali, Dolly Ahluwalia, Gurpal Singh, Brijendra Kala, and Ankita Sehgal.
