Aamir Khan’s return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par is off to a promising start, with the film showing a significant upward trend over its opening weekend. After a modest opening on Friday, the film saw its box office numbers nearly triple by Sunday.

As per figures from Sacnilk, the film collected ₹10 crore on its release day (June 20), followed by ₹20.2 crore on Saturday. The biggest jump came on Sunday, when collections rose to ₹29 crore, taking the total weekend earnings to ₹59.2 crore.
The film’s growing box office traction is being attributed to strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews. Industry analysts have noted that the leap from a ₹10 crore opening to nearly ₹60 crore across three days is a promising sign for its long-term performance.

Sunday also saw high audience engagement, with the Hindi version reporting 57.83% occupancy in afternoon shows and peaking at over 72% in the evening.
Sitaare Zameen Par marks Khan’s comeback after a three-year gap since Laal Singh Chaddha in 2022. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film features Aamir Khan in a lead role, alongside Genelia Deshmukh, Brijendra Kala, and Dolly Ahluwalia. But the heart of the film is its introduction of ten debutant actors who are neurodivergent.
