Rishabh Pant moves up to sixth in ICC Men’s Test Batting rankings; Bumrah remains top in bowling chart

Rishabh Pant moved up to sixth place in the ICC Men’s Test Batting rankings after his twin centuries for India against England in the first Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy at Headingley.

The 27-year-old scored 134 and 118 in successive innings, but India fell to a five-wicket loss against the host. Pant’s sixth position is just one shy of his career-best ranking of five in 2022. The wicketkeeper-batter, however, recorded his highest rating of 801.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is the other Indian representative in the top ten, nestled in fourth place with 851 points, just behind New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.

Joe Root leads the way in the rankings with a rating of 889, ahead of compatriot Harry Brook, who has 874 rating points. Travis Head’s exploits in Australia’s win over the West Indies helped him jump three places to tenth.

Jasprit Bumrah leads the way in the Test bowling rankings following his five-wicket haul against England in Headingley. Josh Hazlewood shone with the ball in the first Test against the West Indies to move one place up to fourth in the rankings.

Despite a limited contribution through the first Test against England, Ravindra Jadeja continues to lead the pack in the Test all-rounder rankings.
