Mumbai retains Omkar Salvi as senior team head coach
Omkar Salvi and Sanjay Patil have been retained as the Mumbai senior men’s head coach and chairman of the selection panel, respectively, for the forthcoming domestic season.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced the coaches and selector appointments for the 2025-26 through a statement on Wednesday.
Salvi, the head coach for the last two years, was expectedly retained as the head coach for a third season while Patil will continue to be the chief selector despite his severe criticism on the attitude of India regulars who were forced to join the Mumbai squad midway through the Ranji Trophy.
The five-member selection committee has only one change. Deepak Jadhav has replaced Kiran Powar, who has taken over as the U-23 coach.
Interestingly, Ankeet Chavan, whose First Class career ended abruptly following his alleged involvement in the 2013 IPL corruption scandal, has been appointed as the Under-14 boys’ coach.
