Mohamed Salah pays tribute to Diogo Jota and Andre Silva – “They will never be forgotten.”
Mohamed Salah has paid tribute to Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota and brother Andre Silva, after they passed away in a car accident on Thursday.
“I am truly lost for words. Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me of going back to Liverpool after the break. Team mates come and go but not like this. It’s going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won’t be there when we go back,” the Egyptian forward said in a post on X.
Salah and Jota were teammates on Merseyside from 2020 onwards, after the Portuguese forward’s move from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Both players were part of Liverpool’s 2024/25 Premier League title win, and won all three domestic cups together.

“My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents who suddenly lost their children. Those close to Diogo and his brother Andre need all the support they can get. They will never be forgotten,” Salah further added.
