With an increase in the number of cardiac arrests in the districts of Hassan, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu, Congress MLC Dinesh Gooli Gowda has urged the government of Karnataka to deploy cardiologists from other districts at the Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research in Mysuru for treatment of patients.

In response to the plea, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has directed the Principal Secretary of the Department of Medical Education to take immediate action.

Mr. Gowda expressed concern that heart attacks are increasingly affecting individuals aged between 30 and 50. He claimed that the patient load at the Jayadeva hospital in Mysuru has doubled, with the number of daily patients rising from the capacity of 700 to around 1,500. He requested urgent deployment of additional cardiologists to handle this emergency.
