Following incessant rainfall in Uttara Kannada district, landslip has occurred at Anmod Ghat on Ramnagar-Goa road on Friday night, affecting the Belagavi-Goa connectivity.

Superintendent of Police of Uttara Kannada district M. Narayan has asked the motorists not to use the Ramnagar-Goa road of the NH 4A as a precautionary measure. Instead they could use other alternate routes to reach Goa, he has said in a release.

On July 2, landslip was reported near Balemani village on the Kadra-Kodasalli KPS road, following which the district administration had banned vehicular movement on the stretch till further orders. The authorities have now revealed that the road block will remain for some more days as geologists have advised against removing the debris for time being, as it might lead to further landslide.
