Former Indian cricket team captain and legendary cricketer Kapil Dev expressed his interest in partnering with the Telangana government in its journey to transform the sports ecosystem.

He assured Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of his support in making the proposed Sports University a success and contributing to broader initiatives aimed at transforming the sports landscape in the State. Mr. Kapil Dev called on the Chief Minister at his official residence in New Delhi on Monday and lauded the State government’s initiatives for the development of sports.

The Chief Minister briefed Mr. Kapil Dev about the government’s plans to establish the Young India Sports University in Telangana and outlined the comprehensive efforts being taken to promote sports infrastructure and talent development across the State.

The Chief Minister shared insights from his recent visits to sports universities and institutions in South Korea and other countries, along with discussions held with international sports experts and officials.

Noted Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn also called on the Chief Minister and expressed interest in setting up a world-class film studio in Telangana.

Mr. Devgan proposed the development of an international-standard film studio equipped with state-of-the-art Animation, VFX, and AI-powered smart studios. He was keen on setting up a skill development institute to train professionals across various domains of the film industry. Mr. Devgn assured that he would act as a brand ambassador in promoting ‘Rising Telangana’ through the lens of cinema and media.
