Is there extra time and penalties in FIFA Club World Cup round of 16 matches?
The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is entering the knockout stage of the tournament as Brazilian sides Palmeiras and Botafogo face off in the first round of 16 match at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Saturday.
Four teams from Brazil have made it past the group stage, while Lionel Messi-led Inter Miami also secured a spot in the final 16. Miami will face UEFA Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain, while Manchester City, which had a 100 per cent record in the group stage, will take on Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

If the scores are level after 90 minutes in the FIFA Club World Cup knockouts, two 15-minute periods of extra time will be played.
If the teams are still tied after extra time, the match will head into penalties.
