Fund allocation and how to ensure competitive balance among tiers.

Current status: 20 teams for 2024 and 2026 editions.
Proposed change: Increase to 24 teams in the future.
Why the push?
Cricket’s return to the Olympics at LA28.
Italy’s surprise qualification for the 2026 T20 World Cup (India & Sri Lanka hosts).
ICC wants to connect with new markets.
When will a decision be made?
Likely next year.
3. No Change for 50-Over World Cup
The ICC has no plans to expand the ODI World Cup beyond its current format.
4. Governance and Membership Updates
Zambia: Set to return as an Associate member after suspension in 2019 for governance breaches.
East Timor: Likely to join ICC as a first-time member.
5. Financial & Governance Review
ICC will review the inquiry into cost overruns during the 2024 T20 World Cup (USA & West Indies).
