Govt. forms five-member panel to probe factory mishap

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday appointed a high-powered committee to review and probe the mishap, and its underlying causes that led to the death of workers at a chemical factory in Sangareddy district.
A release from the Chief Minister’s office said the five-member committee comprises the Chief Secretary, Special CS – Disaster Management, Principal Secretary (Labour), Principal Secretary (Health) and Additional DGP (Fire Services). In addition to probing this mishap, the panel would also submit a report on ways to prevent such accidents from recurring.
Mr. Reddy expressed deepest condolences and prayers for the loved ones and families of those who lost their lives in Monday’s tragic accident in the chemical factory. The Chief Minister directed officials to take all necessary measures to rescue workers who may be trapped at the site and ensure that the injured receive prompt and adequate medical care.
The Chief Minister had instructed the Health Minister, Chief Secretary and the DGP to deploy all efforts for the rescue and relief operations. The CM will visit the hospital and meet families of the victims on Tuesday.
Along with Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha, the CS and the DGP, the Chief Minister has been reviewing the ongoing efforts continuously since the first report of the mishap came to light and monitored the situation. The Chief Minister promised total support to the families of all the victims of the accident.
Mr. Reddy has also instructed the Chief Secretary to take care of treatment of all the injured. He further wished then a quick recovery and assured their families of all support.
