Gold and cash stolen from jewellery shop in Suryapet
Unidentified miscreants made away with gold and cash from Sai Santoshi Jewellery Shop on MG Road in Suryapet after breaking into the premises in the wee hours of Monday (July 21, 2025). Police said the burglary likely occurred after midnight on Sunday (July 20, 2025).
Initial estimates suggest that around three kilograms of gold and ₹18 lakh in cash were stolen, though the shop owners are yet to give an exact figure pending a full assessment by the shop owners, said the Superintendent of Suryapet police, Rajendra Prasad.
“The suspects appear to have carried out a well-planned break-in, gaining access from the rear of the building through a washroom area that led directly into the storage section. A gas cutter was used to breach the shop’s internal security barriers, pointing to the involvement of a gang,” said the officer.
Five special teams have been formed to investigate the case, who are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
