India set up a daunting 608-run target for England on day four of the second Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in Birmingham on Saturday.

The Shubman Gill-led side smashed 427 runs in the second innings which took the side’s lead to 607 runs. This was the ninth-highest target set by an team since in a Test since 2000.

For India, this was the second-highest target it set in its Test history. The highest-ever, 637, came against New Zealand in Wellington in 2009.

West Indies holds the record for the highest run chase in Tests, which overhauled 418 against Australia in 2003.
