England and Wales Cricket Board to host WTC finals till 2031, confirms ICC


England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will host the next three World Test Championship (WTC) finals, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Sunday.

ECB has hosted the three WTC finals so far: 2021, 2023, and 2025. ICC confirmed the venue stating the board’s successful record of hosting the decider.

“The Board also confirmed the awarding of hosting rights for the ICC World Test Championship Finals for the 2027, 2029, and 2031 editions to the England and Wales Cricket Board, following a successful track record in hosting recent finals,” the release said.

The decision was taken during ICC’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Singapore.

South Africa is the current holder of the Test mace after it defeated Australia in the WTC final 2025, held at the Lord’s in June.

WTC final venues and winners so far:

1) 2021 at The Rose Bowl, Southampton – New Zealand

2) 2023 at The Oval, London – Australia

3) 2025 at Lord’s, London – South Africa
