Bangladesh national team opened its AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers campaign with a massive 7-0 win over Bahrain on Sunday at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

Strikes from Shamsunnahar J, Ritu Porna Chakma, Kohati Kisku, Tohura Khatun, Munki Akhter, and an own goal from Bahrain’s Rawan Alali ensured all three point for the Bengal Tigresses.

Despite the win, Bangladesh sits second in Group C with Myanmar taking the first place due to a slightly better goal difference.

The Bengal Tigresses are yet to qualify for any edition of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. They next face Myanmar on July 2.

Only group winners in these qualifiers will book their tickets to next year’s continental tournament which is set to be hosted by Australia.
