Arsenal Tivat banned from UEFA competitions for 10 years in match-fixing case
UEFA banned Montenegrin football club Arsenal Tivat for 10 years from European competitions on Wednesday in a match-fixing case and also banned a player and club official for life.
The games in question were Europa Conference League qualifying round ties in July 2023 against Alashkert. Arsenal Tivat drew the first leg away 1-1 before losing 6-1 at home in the return.
UEFA said Arsenal Tivat is banned up to and including the 2034-35 season and was fined 500,000 euros.
Sporting director Ranko Krgovic and player Nikola Celebic were banned for life while other players were banned by UEFA for 10 years.
FIFA will be asked to extend the bans to apply globally, UEFA said.
