West Bengal: Three Arrested For Alleged Gang-Rape With College Student In Kolkata’s Kasba | India News

New Delhi: Kolkata Police have arrested three men in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a law college student in Kasba on Tuesday. The arrests were made on Thursday night, following a complaint filed by the victim.
“Manojit Mishra, Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay have been arrested on charges of rape with a Kolkata Law College student on 25th June. The accused named in the FIR will be produced before A.C.J.M. Alipore, South 24 Parganas, with a prayer to remand them to Police Custody for the purpose of proper investigation into the case,” Police told ANI.
The three accused of raping a law student in her college premises in the city, being taken to the court.

Accused Manojit Mishra’s lawyer, Azam Khan, said, ” There is an allegation of gangrape. The woman has alleged that she was raped in college premises. The court has granted police custody till Tuesday, 1st July.”

According to The Telegraph, the victim, who was allegedly gang-raped between 7:30 pm and 8:50 pm on June 25, was taken to the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital for medical examination. A forensic team will visit the crime scene later today to collect evidence.
This incident comes less than a year after the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape and murder case, which shook the city.
Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said, ” Till the time Mamata Banerjee remains in power in the state such rape incidents will keep happening. The rapists have no fear, they know TMC will protect them.”

Police have sealed the area where three men allegedly gangraped a South Calcutta Law College student on the college premises
The police are working to ensure justice is served, and the case is being closely monitored. The victim’s family and the public are awaiting the court’s verdict, hoping for strict punishment for the accused.
