Former MLA and Congress leader, T Jagga Reddy, termed the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) rule as “vile and wicked,” accusing it of recording private conversations of political rivals and businessmen which reflected the criminal mindset.

Speaking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday (June 26, 2025), Mr. Reddy said that for ten years, BRS spied on Congress leaders including him. “What have they achieved by treating politicians like criminals?” he asked.

₹9,000 crore in farmers’ accounts in nine days

Mr. Reddy praised the Congress government’s swift implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme while blaming the BRS government of delaying it despite availability of funds.

“Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had created history by depositing ₹9,000 crore into farmers’ accounts in nine days. . But the BRS MLA T Harish Rao was unable to digest the Congress party’s achievement.”

The firebrand Congress leader also lashed out at BRS MLC K. Kavitha for alleging corruption in the Congress government and accusing involvement of the Chief Minister in it. “When demons recite Vedas, it is meaningless and unfathomable,” he said.

“Who was involved in the Delhi Liquory policy scam and went to jail? Where did she get hundreds of crores from?” he asked. He also mocked the BRS leadership, saying, “KCR’s house has turned into a drama company. What new play are you enacting now?” he asked Kavitha.

In reply to a question, he said, “Revanth Reddy is working to become Chief Minister again in 2029. I’m preparing for 2034. As for BRS, they don’t stand a chance for the next two elections.”
