South Africa squad announced for T20 Tri-series: Full list of players and key inclusions
South Africa has announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming T20 Tri-series, set to begin on July 14 at the Harare Sports Club.
Rassie van der Dussen, with 50 T20I caps to his name, will lead a side that includes four uncapped players: Corbin Bosch, Lhuan-dré Pretorius, Rubin Hermann, and Senuran Muthusamy.
The quartet has been rewarded for its strong domestic performances, with Pretorius standing out in particular—he finished as the leading run-scorer in SA20 2025, scoring 397 runs at an impressive strike rate of 166. Wicketkeeper-batter Rubin Hermann also impressed during the tournament, scoring 333 runs at an average of 41.43.
Bosch, who has already played ODIs and Tests, was vital in MI Cape Town’s title win in the SA20 earlier this year, while spin-bowling all-rounder Muthusamy adds to South Africa’s depth.
The squad also features Dewald Brevis, and fast bowlers Gerald Coetzee and Nandre Burger, who are returning from injury. The pace-bowling unit is bolstered by Lungi Ngidi and Kwena Maphaka.
The Proteas will assemble in Pretoria on July 9 for a two-day preparatory camp before departing for Harare on July 11.
The tri-series, which also involves Zimbabwe and New Zealand, will serve as preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
