Eatala records his statement in phone tapping case

Malkajgiri MP from the BJP, Eatala Rajender, claimed that his phone was tapped not just before the 2023 Assembly elections but also during the 2018 elections by intelligence officers, obviously under the direction of the political bosses.
The tapping has continued since 2018 and later during the bypoll of Huzurabad and all the subsequent elections, he claimed while speaking to reporters after recording his statement with the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the case.
The former BRS Minister, who is now in the BJP, blamed the illegal phone tapping for his electoral defeats in 2023. He slammed the misuse of power and said the facility that is used to track terrorists was used against political opponents in Telangana.
He said the appointment of SIB chief Prabhakar Rao, a retired officer, was in itself illegal and against all guidelines by the BRS government. The officer went to the extent of tapping the phones of High Court judges and Ministers, he said and demanded that the officer must reveal the names of top political bosses who ordered the illegal activity.
