Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav eyes global sports hub status for state with La Liga partnership
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav commenced his official visit to Spain by touring the headquarters of La Liga in Madrid on Wednesday.
He held discussions with senior officials of Spanish top flight on sports, youth empowerment, and investment collaboration.
Key proposals put forth by Dr. Yadav to La Liga’s president and technical directors included the establishment of Football Excellence Centres, significant upgrades to sports infrastructure, and the implementation of Spanish coaching-based youth training programmes across the state.
These initiatives are envisioned under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, aiming for sustainable growth and shared benefits.
Dr. Yadav further articulated that the collaboration with La Liga extends beyond the realm of sports. He sees it as a powerful gateway to employment generation, enhanced community participation, global branding for the state, and a boost to cultural tourism.
Promoting Madhya Pradesh on the global stage
In a move to promote Madhya Pradesh’s rich cultural tapestry and tourism potential, Dr. Yadav suggested digital and ground co-branding initiatives during La Liga matches to reach a vast European audience.
He believes this exposure can significantly attract foreign investment in burgeoning sectors such as sports tourism, fitness, media broadcasting, and sports technology.
He extended a direct invitation to La Liga-associated global investors to explore the vast business opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh, affirming the state’s emergence as a trusted and favourable destination for global partnerships.
He said that Madhya Pradesh aims to leverage this collaboration to make sports a powerful vehicle for social development.
