CWI president calls for ‘emergency review meeting’ after West Indies’ harrowing Test loss to Australia
Kishore Shallow, Cricket West Indies president, has advised the Chair of the Cricket Strategy and Officiating Committee to convene an emergency meeting following the team’s harrowing loss to Australia in the third Test on Tuesday.
West Indies was bundled out for mere 27 — second-lowest score in Test history — and lost the game by 176 runs. Touring Australia won the three-match series 3-0.
In a statement, Shallow advised a review meeting of the Test series and has also extended invitations to Clive Lloyd, Vivian Richards and Brian Lara for the discussions. “They will join past greats Dr. Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dr. The Most Honourable Desmond Haynes, Ian Bradshaw, who already serve on the committee,” the release stated.

“This engagement is not ceremonial. These are men who helped define our golden eras,” Shallow added.
“Their perspectives will be invaluable as we shape the next phase of our cricket development. We intend for this gathering to result in tangible, actionable recommendations.”
The CWI president acknowledged that the series result and especially the final match would lead to many “sleepless nights ahead” for fans and players but urged patience as they continue to rebuild the team.
“While disappointment is natural, we must not allow this moment to define our journey,” he said.
“We are in a rebuilding phase, steadily investing in the next generation, and reigniting the spirit that has long made West Indies cricket a force in the world.”
