Bayern Munich confirms Jamal Musiala will be sidelined for ‘long period of time’
Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala is set to be away from action for a long period after suffering a horrific injury during its FIFA Club World Cup 2025 quarterfinal match against PSG, the club confirmed on Sunday.
Musiala was stretchered off at half-time after suffering an ankle injury after colliding with Donnarumma while contesting for the ball.
Even the goalkeeper, who did not show any signs of ill intent, was distraught after seeing the extent of Musiala’s injury.

“Examinations by the German champions’ doctors have revealed that the attacking midfielder sustained a fracture of the fibula associated with a broken and dislocated ankle,” Bayern said in a statement.
“The 22-year-old flew from Orlando to Munich on Sunday morning and will undergo surgery soon,” it added.
PSG went on to win the game 2-0, courtesy of goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele, despite being reduced to nine men after William Pacho and Lucas Hernandez were sent off.
PSG will face Real Madrid in the semifinal.
