Fans thrilled as legendary composers A R Rahman, Hans Zimmer pose for a selfie

Legendary music composers Hans Zimmer and A R Rahman have joined hands for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. The two-par epic will star Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi.

The maiden collaboration of the two Oscar-winning composers has amped up the hype for the project, produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Limited and Monster Mind Creations helmed by Yash. Soon after the title-revealing teaser for Ramayana was released, Rahman and Zimmer posed for a selfie, leaving fans thrilled.

Rahman took to Instagram to share his selfie with Zimmer. In the photograph, Zimmer is seen standing behind Rahman, placing his hands on the Indian maestro’s shoulders.

Rahman last worked for the much-hyped Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam project Thug Life, which hit the screens on June 05, 2025. Zimmer, known for his popular works in Interstellar, Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception, recently composed the score for the latest sports blockbuster F1, starring Brad Pitt.

Ramayana, filmed for Imax, will release in Diwali 2026 and 2027. Ranbir will essay the role of Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi will play Sita. Yash is set to play Ravan and veteran actor Sunny Deol will portray Hanuman.
