FIFA Club World Cup: Estevao goal in vain as Chelsea edges Palmeiras to reach semifinals

Chelsea reached the Club World Cup semifinals with a battling 2-1 win over Brazilian side Palmeiras on Friday.

Enzo Maresca’s team took an early lead in the last-eight clash through Cole Palmer and after teenage starlet Estevao blasted Palmeiras level, an 83rd-minute Weverton own-goal handed the Premier League side victory.

Chelsea will face another Brazilian side in Fluminense in Tuesday’s semi-final after they beat Al Hilal 2-1 earlier on.
