IND vs ENG: Gill breaks Gavaskar’s 46-year-old record, registers highest score by an Indian in England
Shubman Gill scored a double century against England on Thursday during the second Test in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in Birmingham.
Gill, 25, broke Sunil Gavaskar’s 46-year-old record, registering the highest score by an Indian batter in an away Test. Gavaskar had scored 221 against England in 1979.
This is also Gill’s first double century in Tests. His previous best score was 147 that he made in the first Test at Leeds last week.
