List of highest Test scores by Indians: Gill enters top 10, Sehwag’s 319 remains best
Shubman Gill scored 269 runs against England in the second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in Birmingham.
This was the seventh-highest score by an Indian in Test cricket. Among Indian captains, Gill registered the highest score, going past Virat Kohli’s 254 against South Africa in 2019.
Virender Sehwag holds the record for the highest score by an Indian batter. He had scored 319 runs against South Africa in Chennai in 2008. The flamboyant opener had one more triple century, which came against Pakistan in Multan.
Karun Nair is the only other Indian to score a triple ton.
