Indians in County Championship: Chahal stars with four-fer; Tilak Varma helps Hampshire claim draw

Indian leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal starred with four-wicket haul as he nearly powered Northamptonshire to a thrilling win in the second division of the County Championship on Wednesday.

Chahal’s efforts helped his side reduce Kent to 160 for eight, while following on, before the game ended in a draw.

Indian batter Tilak Varma played a patient hand for Hampshire in the first division, playing out 143 balls for his 47, as he helped his side claim a draw against Worcestershire.

Ishan Kishan, representing Nottinghamshire, didn’t get to bat in the final day against Somerset. But, the wicket-keeper batter did bowl an over as the game crawled to a tame draw.

Khaleel Ahmed’s Essex suffered a 10-wicket defeat to Yorkshire, as the Indian pacer bowler gave away 24 runs from his four wicketless overs.
