The Bangladesh women’s national team beat higher-ranked opponent in Myanmar 2-1 in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers on Wednesday at the Thuwunna stadium in Yangon.
Bangladesh is currently 128th in the world while Myanmar is 55th.
Win Win scored a late goal for the host which turned out to be consolatory as Ritu Porna Chakma’s brace was enough to consolidate the Bengal Tigresses’ position at the top of Group C with six points from two matches.
Bangladesh next faces Turkmenistan in its final qualifier as the group winner will advance to next year’s tournament in Australia.
